This game is good. Nice graphics, not to difficult, just like a good internet game should be. Keep it up!!
Thank you for playing, Wave! Hopefully, our next games will be better!
como se juega wing men onlines
vamos a luchar juntos
nice site. hope u guys are successful as armor games.
Cool game. but if it have upgrade skill maybe it’ll be better and the game kinda short
Thanks for playing! We will keep that in mind
Thanks Ivan! Going to need all the luck we can get
Hi guys!
Well, I totally liked playing Wingmen. That’s first and the main issue. What I’m going to write further is an IMHO of a dumb player, who never used to draw well and forgotten the programming.
1. Historical: You know, Kazakhstan was a part of Soviet Union. Unless you use a modern political map in WW 1.5 setting just for lolz.
2. The art is very nice (tired of this ye-olde-pixel-looking graphics). So I was kinda surprised to see the same background on all the levels. Well, I know that you know that I know that you know that of course it would have been nice to have different backgrounds, but drawing 15 additional pictures requires time and effort.
3. Missed the campaign for aliens. Problems making a plot?
4. Didn’t liked the design of “Gaea” airship. Expected some sort of zeppelin with a big Berta, rather then a wooden frigate with a blimp. But ok, it’s your sense of humor in the end.
But anyway I have to note, that in my opinion adding the upgrade system because “all the other games alike have it” would just spoil the game.
Wish U the best luck. Will be waiting for Wingmen II with more different nations.
Thank you! labu likes you back!
And you don’t have to be an expert to be allowed to post criticism, as long as it’s constructive
1. We didn’t even realize that
2 & 3. Yeah, we kinda cut it out to save time.
4. Zeppelins are cool too! Not to get your hopes high, but it’s not entirely impossible for it to be in the next game, if there is one
>>But anyway I have to note, that in my opinion adding the upgrade system because “all the other games alike have it” would >>just spoil the game.
It’s nice to have different views. We will have to work hard to please the players.
Thank you for your support!
Stuck on level 46 Survival mode. Whats is the Level Limit?
Hi Josh, Sorry it’s a bug we are trying to fix. We’ll try to update it asap. I am sorry it ruined your play.
hey guys im a casual player but i think the campaign is really difficult to play and its kinda frustrating. well i like this kinda strategy games and that’s why im still playing it but i thought you would maybe have some tips for me (the help page on armorgames isn’t very helpful).
cheers guys
hey fabinho, we have a tip for you
The key to quickly finish a stage is to attack together! Build 2/3 gaea early, then only build the 3 other fast plane. Don’t build another gaea, because it’s slow and will not catch up your other units, also use your special skill wisely!
Good luck
Hi, nice game.
I liked the graphic and the art of the game.
Some suggestions from me:
1. It would be fantastic, if there was an update system for the planes. So you can upgrade your favorite airplane.
2. At the end, I only used Gaia-Airships and the first plane, Hurrican, I think. It was a little bit disappointing that I couldn’t use the other planes more.
3. I didn’t like the Gaia ship too. A zeppelin is great, but not that one.
4. Make Wingmen 2 as alien campaign.
Greetings and good luck for you.
SilverIC
Hey there SilverIC!
We hope you enjoyed the game.
1. Upgrade system is nice, we’ll sure consider one.
.
2. We have another strategy utilizing all plane, explained one post above
3. Looks like airships are quite unpopular
4. Let’s hope there’s a sequel
Thanks for your suggestions.
Hi once more.
About using all the planes: guys, I used the same strategy as SilverIC on the last stage, adding airstrike. The point is that:
A. Until the enemy canon is fuctioning you use
1. Gaea, because
-1.a she is efficient against all the fighters
-1.b slow, so she destroys enough fighters before reaches the base and wiped out by the enemy canon
2. And nemesis is built because
- 2.a you are tough with money because of the alien canon again
- 2.b don’t know whether you’ve done this on purpose, but nemesis deals more damage to the the behemoth then the other planes. At least it has the best price/damage ratio against them. Building demeters that deal nearly the same damage, wiped out nearly same fast, but costs 3 times more is just a waste
3. Airstrike costs 200, but it is highly profitable if there are many enemy planes. Moreover, it deals some damage to the canon. The wave of 9 planes can do a real damage to a canon, but it is wiped out very soon and so is unprofitable. Thus…
4. On the last stage, while the canon is still alive, you mostly just don’t have enough money to order the waves of planes. So you are bound to the things with the best ratio. That is: nemesis, gaea, airstrike.
5. Sometimes, mostly when you have enough money after an airstrike and enemy ships are pressured by gaeas near the alien base, it is worth to send a wave, because it can fly straight to the canon and wipe out around 50% of it’s health. But then they die, and then look 3 and 4
B. When enemy canon is dead, buying all kind of planes is not a waste any more. Unfortunately, it is too late for thinking strategically: the planes are attacking the base, so you just need as many as possible as soon as possible for the massacre. Same holds for the mothership.
C. Also, the “repair” tool appears to be quiet useless, unless you play the survival or assault the mothership. The planes are either too fragile or too cheap, so you never have enough steel that it would be worth to repair.
Ok, that was about strategy. Now about upgrades:
Guys, you want your game to be popular. The folks are begging for an upgrade system, and I think you have no choice but to give them one. I have also been expecting an upgrade menu after the first level and was surprised, when it didn’t appear. However, this has its own charm. I don’t think that the chess players “upgrade their pawns to make them 15% faster and deal 10% more damage”.
Upgrade is a noob’s way to beat the game. “Oh, they’ve beaten be, but I’ll up my planes so they’ll deal more damage so you’ll tremble and suck, miserable aliens”. I’m a noob, so I know for sure.
Also, knowing that people are waiting for the upgrades, the developers are making games where you NEED to upgrade, otherwise you just can’t win.
Thus, the games with two bases could be roughly split in two categories by the time you think while playing it:
0. Build. You think what to upgrade between the missions. Then you send your troops to fight, and watch the enemy lose. Or vice versa, depending on who is upgraded better. The last thing like that was “Humans vs. Aliens”, and it had some 10 levels of upgrade for each unit.
1. Tactics. You think within the battle. Tiing becomes the main issue. “Airmen” is a 100% tactics game. Same for “Steambirds”, for instance.
Of course, there are no pure 0 games, more like 1/10, 1/3 and so on. But, as I’ve said, the closer is the game to 1, the more brain you need to use during the battle. Playing this kind of games make you feel like “teh elite”, the way chess players think of themselves (making me hate chess).
And the games around 0 are the best for relaxation and self-satisfaction.
Concluding: if to make upgrades, I’d suggest making them within the battle, like in oldschool strategy games. That’s an opinion, of course.
Also, neither Colt, nor Kalashnikov were upgraded for decades and centuries. The is no need for it.
Third thing: do you already have a plot for alien campaign?
Ok, enough for now.
Yours,
Kolya

Hi Kolya, my name is Heru. I am the programmer of wingmen. Your analysis is very interesting and insightful, I’ve never even seen the game in that way before. Are you sure you are not a game developer?
I can’t say what kind of system we are going to implement, cause we will probably wait for a while (and maybe a couple of other games) before thinking of making a sequel. But, your analysis will definitely stick on our mind when we decided to do it.
And no, we dont have a storyline for the aliens yet. You seemed to be so curious, do you want to suggest something?
Hi Heru!
Well, I wanted to be a developer, but sticked to pure math instead of programming. Though I still can remember Java, C++ and C#. And I’m kinda fond of history and sci-fi.
As to storyline, I have some vague ideas. If to make an alien campaign, it really should be something totally absurdistic. For instance, I’d suggest the aliens to know something like tachyon propulsion drive and laser beam technology, but be amazed and totally unprepared to see propeller and gunpowder. Which, in turn, work at least not less effective, then the alien advanced technology.
One of the most crazy ideas was like that: the conquest was a secondary goal of the war. The aliens are as commercial minded as humans, but the primary for all the weapons is not militaristic. All the war was an advertisement company: “Just look at out laser blade! It could even cut the steel plane in two! Imagine how useful could it be in your kitchen! Order now, and as a present you’ll get a tachyon corkscrew for free!” This even could be used for the briefing.
Well, I have some more ideas about other types of planes, if you like. But I just know from my very childhood, that it’s easy to invent and suggest, but hard to code.
Yours, Kolya
Oh a mathematician! cool!

absurd: check!
capitalist aliens: check!
marketing stunts: check!
Sounds like it totally belongs in the wingmen universe! hahaha….
On a more serious note, I can see how it fits in the game. So, if we decided to use it at all and you allow us to use it, yeah, it could be included.
“Well, I have some more ideas about other types of planes, if you like. But I just know from my very childhood, that it’s easy to invent and suggest, but hard to code.”
Feel free to share your ideas with us here. We don’t mind if you have any suggestions or requests. Knowing what the players think or want is very useful for us.

Will be just glad to see my ideas realized.
By the way, instead of picking up dollars, the mouse could now be a camera-bot that captures the best moments. And capturing them in time is what you are paid for.
In the end of the plot the hero could be… fired. Because he was asked to win battles, but not to win the war in the middle of advertisement campaign. But “Show Must Go On!” (c), and in order to continue, the aliens need people to have a resistance. So the aliens found the company… guess the name.
Now, about the planes. The really interesting point of your game is tailing – a half dead plane can kill two brand new ones. The ridiculous part of it is that in most cases it is an enemy plane who tails your planes. Hard to say, whether you’ve tried to to make lead-wingman scheme, at least the planes appear in tis formation in the beginning, and for enemy planes in survival it works perfectly. One of the things I can suggest, as a sort of special unit is a plane with rear shot. In “Steambirds”, for instance, some planes had an option to spread an acid behind them. You may, for instance, make a full reversal (“janus”?): a plane with the duck scheme with tail and ailerons on forward and propeller on its back, and shooting backwards. Well, sounds kinda stupid.
The other thing may be tesla-plane (“vajra”?), that deals minor damage, but works like EMP for a single enemy plane. The tesla may belong to the opposite force, making counterpart to “janus”.
I don’t think that’s all I got. The point is that I can make a suggestions, but I can’t guess all the types to make the game balanced.
Though, guys, you’ve really made me think about the classification of two-base strategy games. Mind if I make an analysis of the ones I used to play?
Ok, the best luck,
Kolya
P.S. What does “labu” mean. Is it an Indonesian name for pumpkin? Or Java name? Or whatever?
Looks like a serious discussion going on here
, even the reply limit has been reached lol.
.
Hi Kolya, I’m Felix the one who handles art. And yeah you guessed it right! Labu is pumpkin in Indonesian
Thanks for all your impressive analysis and suggestions.
Something to keep player busy while watching the plane-battle is nice, and actually the picture capturing mechanic is very interesting, it could become a new game itself.
We had discussed about special effects in weapon, but unfortunately we couldn’t put them in the final game because of some balance issues. With some tweak, it might be available in the sequel
Adding varieties to unit’s attack, such as shooting backward is also great addition.
Comments from player is like music to our ears. Of course we love to hear it
Hi Felix!
Well, by picture capturing I just meant the way to make sense of picking up the dollars. If it incepts even more interesting ideas, then so be it!
Yeah, the balance is the thing that doesn’t let anyone go too far. And it is the balance that I liked mostly playing the Wingmen. You guys are true to Starcraft canons. And, of course, the things I’m talking about concern only my impression from the game and what I’d like to expect from the sequel.
There is an interesting moment about rear attack. The WWII Soviet airplane , used to have a rear machine gun operated by second pilot/ radio man. The point is that this rear gun was a classical kind of upgrade: they just found it useful and installed an additional machine gun, though it was of course much weaker then the other four guns.
To my shame, I’m playing Armor Games more then doing my work. So I’ve played nearly all strategic games available. At least, now I can make a recension and have someone to read it. But not today.
By the way, Felix, I’ve sent you an friendship request in Facebook. So if you see a jerk named Nikolay Ivankov – then it’s most probably me.
Hey you found me, thanks for the request Kolya!
Ilyushin II-2 sure is a badass aircraft. Good looking plane, also equipped with rear machine gun. Being able to shoot while in chase is great, it just like in an action movie scene. This plane must be hard to take down!
I think the addition of this type of plane will add depth in the strategy.
So, you are a fan of strategy game! That’s great. And it explains your nice analysis
Google knows everyone!
Well, as you’ve seen, Il-2 was not a fighter, so it just needed the rear gun to keep fighters aback. Adding a rear gun, which can fire some 4 times slower then the normal gun, will make impossible for a nearly dead plane to shoot down 3 brand new ones just because it’s tailing them.
Or, otherwise, it’s up to Heru to rebuild the algorithm, making the game more reality-like: when more then two planes are tailed, they should make turns in different directions, a kind of Thach Weawe (wanna look like a profi), except that you planes are slower and do can not maneuver horizontally. And it is exactly what a wingman is needed for in a dogfight. I could have given a more detailed observation if I knew exactly how the AI works and was not to guess it.
By the way, have you guys played the “Dogfight” or “Dogfight II”? I think it can give a lot of ideas about the AI.
Kolya, How do you know all this stuff?? XD
Are you really into airplanes?
Haven’t heard Dogfight before, going to check it later.
Uh, dunno. Just happen to know a few facts, all the rest is google and wiki.
And I’m primarily interested in history, mostly ancient. And I learn history, because I’m tired of elves and want to create a fantasy that would be totally non-canonical.
By the way, truing different strategy games by now, to guess the best upgrade system.
Guys, I just think that Wingmen is WIN, that could have been EPIC WIN. And it’s really nice to talk to you, because you are interested in.
If only I shouldn’t have to prepare my thesis in half a year and seek for a new position…
Thanks for the discussion, Kolya!
And good luck with your thesis!
PS: Checked on Dogfight. Didn’t really play through it, but it’s a high quality flash game.
Think you can get rid of me so easily
No way
LoL
I thought you were leaving already… hahaha…
Welcome back then… LoL
I’ve meant, that if only I haven’t had an excuse to do something similar. By the way, what are you coding on?
I have just finished the bug fixes for Wingmen the other day. Didn’t make it for Friday update though. Will have to wait til Monday.
No, I’ve meant, the programming language. Just in case if we can discuss the code and AI.
The language is Action Script 3 (flash scripting language).
Never heard about. Would’ve been interesting to have a look. Went to download something related.
Duh, this Adobe Flash seems to be quiet an expensive toy. 700$ is a price – you can buy three Nemeis’, three three Hyperions, three Demeters and a Gaia and an Airstrike for this money. One should be really determined to use it buying such a staff. I’ve just been wondering if I could try to make a mod of Wingmen myself. Seems that I have to bury this idea before finding a new position with a more fair salary. If I find one, of course. Never mind
Kolya, try to search Flex. It’s free
Ok, thanks
i have a problem, since your recent update version i haven’t being able to play the game because it won’t worked when it passes the armor games logo.
and i really liked the game.
i use a firefox and i can give other details if needed to fix that trouble plz.
Can you give me other details? I have tested it on Firefox and it should be running fine. Did you get any error messages?
How about reloading the page, does it solve the problem? Or, perhaps clearing your browser cache? (Warning though, clearing the cache will erase the saved game)
Same problem. Tried different browsers, tried reloading, nothing past the armor games sign.
Can you please send me other details? Do you get any error messages? Or a screenshot maybe?
